Museum standard conservation of fine art based in North Norfolk
Arabella Stickler Paintings Conservation provides museum-quality conservation services for private clients and institutions across the UK. Specialising in easel paintings from the sixteenth century to the present day, Arabella treats artworks on a range of supports including canvas, wooden panel, and metal.
Detailed written and photographic assessments of individual artworks or large collections, tailored to suit the client's requirements. Surveys record an artwork's condition and identify areas of instability. Clear, prioritised recommendations are provided to support informed decision-making for future care.
Carefully controlled cleaning to safely remove surface dirt, discoloured varnish and overpaint. Each treatment is tailored to the specific materials and condition of the artwork.
Stabilisation of physical damage to the painting’s support, including tears, punctures and weakened canvas or panel supports. Repairs are carried out using appropriate conservation-grade materials.
Securing flaking, lifting or unstable paint layers through the careful application of conservation-grade adhesives.
Sensitive reintegration of paint losses using carefully matched and fully reversible retouching materials.
Provision of museum-standard framing designed to help protect artworks from environmental fluctuations and physical damage.
In-depth examination of paintings using non-invasive methods such as magnification, raking light, and ultraviolet light. Advanced imaging and analytical techniques can be arranged where required to support research and inform conservation decisions.
